The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services on the community.

SASSA will probably be rendering services which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency said it is actually alarmed in regards to the significant amount of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The goal in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a large quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“That is a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no totally functional office devoted to service the area daily. The assistance position produced for intervention ordeals a substantial influx of opportunity beneficiaries, which makes it difficult for that office to attend to all people who stop by a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional assets to allow the servicing of all clients and boost use of Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
